Student Chapter Takes 3rd Place in Four Events at Regional Student Conference!
UCSD's Student Chapter of The Society of Civil and Structural Engineers, hosted the organization's 2007 Pacific Southwest Regional Student Conference. Over seven hundred students from seventeen universities gathered at UCSD on April 12th, 13th, and 14th to participate and compete in seventeen different events which took place at UCSD's Powell Laboratories, Geisel Library Plaza, and offsite at Lake Murray in San Diego's East County.
SE's chapter, Society of Civil and Structural Engineering (SCSE) placed in the following major events:
Steel Bridge - 3rd place
Quiz Bowl - 3rd place
Transportation - 3rd place
Wiffle-Ball - 3rd place
Concrete Canoe - 5th place
For being in the top three for the Steel Bridge Competition, the SCSE Steel Bridge Team will be going to the National Conference. Congratulations to the Chapter on their success at not only hosting a such a large and well-attended event, but for placing so high in the competitions.
