Associate Professor John McCartney has received the 2016 Walter L. Huber Civil Engineering Research Prize of ASCE, “For contributions to our understanding of the thermo-hydro-mechanical behavior of soils and associated effects on geothermal heat exchange and thermal energy storage in civil engineering applications.” This is a prestigious award given to younger members of early accomplishment.
