Professor Lanza di Scalea and student Robert Phillips have been awarded the 2010 Research Fellowship Award from the American Society for nondestructive Testing (ASNT) for the research proposal titled "Nonlinear ultrasonic testing of waveguides including rail tracks." The ASNT Research Fellowship Award is given every year to up to three academic institutions in the country. The award consists of a $15,000 fellowship which will go towards the support of PhD student Robert Phillips, and an archival publication in the journal Materials Evaluation. The award will be announced at the ASNT Fall Conference and Quality Testing Show in Houston, TX, November 2010. Congratulations to Professor Lanza di Scalea and to Mr. Phillips!
