PhD student Arun Manohar has been awarded a Fellowship for the San Diego Regional Renewable Energy Technology Acceleration Program administered by the Von Liebig Center. The project is entitled “Structural Health Monitoring of Wind Turbine Blades Using Advanced Infrared Thermography,” is a process to identify structural defects in composite plates. Arun will receive an award of $45,000 to be spent within one year to develop his research into a commercially viable product. His was one of only three projects selected for this award out of 30+ originally submitted.
