Ming-Chen Hsu, a Ph.D. student working with Prof. Yuri Bazilevs, was selected as one of the six finalists of the 2010 Robert J. Melosh Medal Competition for the best student paper in finite element methods. To complete the competition, Ming-Chen will give a presentation of his joint paper with Prof. Bazilevs on tissue prestressing in fluid-structure interaction simulation of cerebral aneurysms at the Robert J. Melosh Symposium to be held at Duke University on April 30th, 2010. The seven finalists will have their full-length articles published in a special issue of Finite Elements in Analysis and Design. The articles are expected to appear in print in early 2011. Congratulations Ming-Chen!
