Graduate Students will provide an overview of the EERI UCSD Student Chapter and student organizations. The EERI UCSD Graduate Student Chapter aims to work side by side with the regional professional chapter to promote earthquake safety awareness among students. We can plan to host quarterly seminars by inviting outside professionals from industry and academia or take part in seminars organized by the local engineering community. This provides a great opportunity to network with the practicing profession both locally and nationally through participation in regional events and the EERI annual meeting. This year we will be hosting the EERI Friedman Family Visiting Fellow David Freedman and would like to arrange discussion with the speakers after the seminar to discuss the presentation or any other topics more in depth.  EERI graduate student members act as mentors to the undergraduate class especially for those participating in the annual EERI student seismic design competition Come to learn more about how you can benefit from membership and take on leadership positions during your graduate studies.
